Section 69#
Deals with the failure to comply with the directions for intercepting, monitoring or decrypting any information transmitted through any computer system or network. The penalty for this offense is imprisonment for up to seven years. The specific monetary penalty is not defined under the Act.
Section 72#
Protects the confidentiality and privacy of records, books or information. The penalty for breach of this section is imprisonment for up to two years and a fine of one lakh rupees.
Section 79#
Provides exemption from liability for intermediaries in certain cases. This means intermediaries are not liable for any third-party information hosted by them unless they aid or induce the commission of an unlawful act or are notified by the government about unlawful activity.
